transcendental

transcendental
A topic or question is transcendental if its resolution is not purely a matter of logic or mathematics, and also lies beyond the scope both of sense experience and of the proper use of theory answerable to sense experience. Transcendental questions include religious questions, but may also include those raised by metaphysical problems, such as scepticism and physicalism . Philosophical attitudes to such questions range from fascination to outright denial of their existence (see logical positivism ).
