Adams's thesis

Adams's thesis
Hypothesis due to Ernest Adams (The Logic of Conditionals, 1975, p. 3) that the probability of an indicative conditional of the form ‘if p is the case then q is’ is a conditional probability; that is, the probability of ‘if p then q ’ should equal the ratio of the probability of (p & q ) to the probability of p .
